Our Story

The Cleveland Early Education Nature School House was dreamed up by educator and mother, Lana Radl. Lana has spent over 10 years teaching various subjects, from international affairs, to physics, to the natural sciences. Her most recent teaching experience was working for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Shaker Lakes Nature Center.

Prior to her teaching appointments, she worked full-time at CWRU's Office of Sustainability. At this time, she struggled to find quality, affordable care for her young daughter. She chose Hershey Montessori school, but spent over 3 hours each day commuting from home, to Hershey, to work and back again each day. When her second child was born, she thought she found a perfect balance of working part-time, but quickly found reliable part-time care to be a challenge for both her children.

With her children as her inspiration, she dreamed up the Cleveland Early Education Nature School House. She incorporated many features that she had always wanted for her children to experience: Flexible, reliable care, daily outdoor experiences, enriching playmates, practical skill crafts and cooking, and freedom to get out in the community and go on field trips. Lana has schooled both of her children at the Cleveland Nature House during their pre-school years and welcomes you who is looking for higher, quality, affordable experience for their children to do the same.
